Ladies Football League, Match day 1.

It was a perfect evening for football but the result for the ladies unfortunately was not. With that saying, after last night’s performance the management and team go away with a lot of positives.

Considering this was the teams first competitive match this year having only started training a mere 7 weeks ago…the performance and attitude is to be applauded.

The Reds knew Burren were coming with a point to prove and a strong level of fitness behind them so the Reds came out of the blocks scoring 1-01 in a matter of minutes. However, with every score Rostrevor had Burren had an answer, with there being only 1 point between the teams at half time.

In the second half Burren turned it up a notch and continued to push on regardless of the fine scores from Aislinn Mc Geough and defensive work from the Ginger duo on the back like.

In true Rostrevor style the ladies in red and black never gave up until the final whistle, demonstrating the heart and commitment the team possess.

As the saying goes…onwards and upwards the season has only begun!
Thanks to all the spectators who came to support the ladies…it was greatly appreciated.

Rostrevor 3.06  Burren 2.14

We hope you can all come and support us on Friday 22nd April in the Kilbroney for our annual Pub Quiz!
