After some serious lobbying by Aidan Rice, Saint Bronagh’s GAC has agreed to stage an handball competition with doubles teams comprising of a father and daughter. Anyone wishing to compete just give their names to Dermot Baxter. The competition will consist of two games to twenty one with the aggregate score determining the winner. All fathers should also submit a note from their doctor stating that it is safe for them to partake.
There will also be a shield competition for those who are eliminated in the first round. There will be no back door. The competition has already caught the attention of the wider public and a cup has been anonymously promised and Fionnuala Rice has stepped in to sponsor the plate for the secondary competition. Thank you Fionnuala for that very generous offer.
Applications would need to be in before the 8th December and the completion will be run off in January. This should give plenty of time for the fathers to hone their skills. Entry will be restricted to members of Saint Bronagh’s GAC.
